Is the Gatherer checking the entire area of nodes multiple times "per entering" or only once? Having an issue

The issue is, looking on the minimap, when the player travels the route and when he.. exits.. a certain area and then a spawn pops up where he already was, he does not turn around and the spawn is pretty much wasted until lateron he would then return, it would be despawned. So I assume an area is.. checked.. only once per.. entering it.. and not multiple times? It would be great if the player would be able to even turn around and check where he was, if the radar is set to a great value, like I have between 100 and 200 of detection. So far the player only detects what is.. ahead.. of his route and not.. what spawns behind him. I'd love to see an improvement here, glad to leave this feedback here :)
