Is this something it can do? Say traveling to a site can it spot a node and swoop in and take it out? If not can is it something that can be implemented?

You can already farm when wrobot moving to next zone.

 

For active this option go to "General Settings" > tab "Looting and Farming options" and activate "Harvest During Long Move".
