I run all my profiles with Mammoth mount so I'll have to update this, not sure why you're going into the temple itself the profile has no path in there, it may be searching for units within a distance too large and locating them in there which would be a setting youd have to change in your settings.

Edit; Never mind this post. I just sold all my gear, gave all golds I had to random lowbies and deleted every toon I had. I think 10 years is enough WoW'ing. :D

That's correct, but I'll make an attempt this evening to add that in.  

Do you (or does anyone else) know if you can collect shards once the crystal is made and in your inventory?

I actually made one similar to this last night.  Although yours will be astronomically more complex than mine.  I made it just to farm Sumptuous Fur in Steamscar.
