"Creature must be looted first" causing skinning to bug out

As the title states, I haven't had much luck with skinning lately. Anytime the mob hasnt been looted by another player, it will stand there trying to skin it until I manually stop wrobot. 1/3 of the time it will recognize that it cant be skinned, but the other 2/3 of the time it makes me look extremely obvious as a botter.

I've messed with my latency settings, anywhere from where it started to 700-1200 and it doesnt seem to make much of a difference. Any other suggestions?
